Living Erasmus Plus programs- Youth Vote
Erasmus+ is a group of programs- grants that the European Union and the associated countries offer to the young population. Anybody who has more than 18 and less than 30 can be beneficiary of one of these programs.
Erasmus+ has different levels and actions. The exchanges are one of them. The main objective of the exchange is the experience of the participant, learn by non formal education, discover a new country and, of course, make international friends.
From 16th till 23th of March, the Youth Association from Transylvania, ATA, organized 8 Youth Exchange days, in Cristuru Secuiesc, Harghita County, Romania. The name of this project was: Youth Vote. The aim of this was analyze the attitude of youth regarding local, national and especially European Parliament Elections.
Five different countries took part of this exchange. Spain, Hungary, Romania, France and Portugal. Each group was formed by 5 youngsters between 18 and 24 years old.
Minerva and Ainoa were in the event making interviews and taking pictures. During the first day, the participants were introducing their self, meeting each other and presenting their sending organization. During the night, each country bring their typical food, drinks and sweets enjoying a good time together.
The other days the youngers were presenting the situation of voting in their countries, talking about the campaigns, asking the locals about their presence at voting and so on. They received the Hargita Major, who explain the situation in this area.
They could enjoy visiting some places around Cristuru, like Sighisoara, not all is work!
Finally, they created some videos to encourage the youngest to vote and involved in political stuff. Why? The answer is easy, in our hands is the opportunity to build a better word, fair and better, much better!
